D. Anne Youngblood Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

D.Anne Youngblood died on May 27 after a short illness. She was 89. She was born on Nov. 21, 1932 in Pecos, Texas, the first daughter of J.P. and Rose Lester. She attended public schools in Wink, Texas; Opelousas, La.; Laurel, La.; and Mineral Wells, Texas. She graduated from Mineral Wells High School in 1951. D.Anne attended Midwestern University in Wichita Falls, Texas, on scholarship to edit the school’s yearbook, which she did for three consecutive years. She graduated from Midwestern in 1955. She married Bill Youngblood on May 29, 1955, while both were students at Midwestern. After marriage, she worked for the Texas Employment Commission. A son, Yale, was born in 1956. The family moved in 1958 to Fort Worth, where Bill was employed by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. A daughter, Ysleta, was born in 1959 and, shortly thereafter, the family moved to North Richland Hills. D.Anne worked as a substitute teacher in the Birdville Independent School District for 14 years and later worked at the Star-Telegram for both the Texas Golden Gloves and Pigskin Payday. At one time, she attended Davis Memorial Methodist Church in North Richland Hills and, later, St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Haltom City. She loved animals and never, during her adult life, owned fewer than one dog. She is survived by the aforementioned family members, as well as grandchildren Matt Youngblood, Aaron Youngblood, Daniel Youngblood and Hannah Youngblood; and great-grandchildren Gavin Youngblood, Nevvie Youngblood and Maddox Youngblood.
