Mrs. Beatriz "Betty" De La Pena Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Beatriz "Betty" De La Pena, 44, passed away on Tuesday December 21, 2010. Graveside Service: 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation: 9:00 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at Guardian Funeral Home. Beatriz was born on June 3, 1966 in Chihuahua, Mexico to the late Mario and Rosa Torres. Betty received her associates degree from Eldorado College in West Covina and attended Tarrant County College to study Early Education. Betty was a wonderful wife and mother. She stressed the importance of education with her family. Her life was dedicated to her faith and her family. Betty taught ESL classes as well as Children's Bible School at her church. She was known for her humility, her kindness and understanding. She often gave words of comfort and great advice to those in need. Betty was an outdoors person who found great interest in birds, particularly, the Red Cardinal. She left a lasting impression on all who came in contact with her and she will be greatly missed. Betty was preceded in death by her brother, Mario Torres and her grandmother, Martha Romero. Survivors: Loving husband, Rudy De La Pena; children, Alexandria, Dominique, Franchesca, Rudy Jr., and Daniel De La Pena; sisters, Susanna Sierra and Olivia Torres; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
